Who needs a treadmill...

Who needs a treadmill when you've got Snowmageddeon 2010!  I've burned tons of calories shoveling.

INSANITY.

Power has been intermittent.  Today was another blizzard!

In the last 6 days we have received 50-60 inches of snow!!!

I've never seen anything like it.

I haven't been at work since last Thursday.

Seriously, it has been UNREAL.  The snow piled in our front yard is as tall as I am (I'm only 5'2.5")

I don't know how long the power will stay on.  Unfortunately I've been drinking and eating entirely too much since I've basically been trapped in the house.  Ugh.  I am dying for this shit to stop so that I can get back to my life.

Being home makes me fat.

Gah!

MISS YOU GUYS!!  Send good vibes.  It is going to take some time to get life back to normal around here.  If I can post some pics later I will try.  It is an unbelievable sight.  There are snow drifts over 6 feet high and snow piles (from plowing) well over 10 feet!

  1. Ah, as beautiful as the snow is at first, it becomes a complete nightmare, specially when it turns to ice!
I hope everything is going okay, x.

  2. OMG I want to see a photo of you standing in a snow cave in your garden grinning like a maniac!! Seriously, if this happens again I'm gonna come visit you guys in hopes of getting snowed in :p

An old Dunedenite trick for surviving while walking around on ice is to put a pair on socks on over your shoes. No shit, it works!!

Good luck!! I'm sending you warm sunny thoughts and trying not to pee myself laughing at your snowtastic neologisms!

  3. ooh i put plastic shopping bags over my socks before i put my feet into my shoes and tie them up as high on your leg as they go. keeps your feet from getting wet.
i wish i could see that, i love snow! im so jealous!!!
...then again i also like the idea of being trapped inside like some weird survival situation from t.v. :P
p.s. you should totally build a snow cave. that would be sooo COOL!
    stay strong and warm!

  5. Wow, I still can't believe you guys got that much snow. Our blizzard this year was relatively mild, and for Wisconsin thats pretty weird. Usually we get hit with a freak storm like that at least once in the season. I bet I'd like to see that much snow. I only like snow when there's a little or a record breaking amount. Everything in between bothers me.

Maybe you can build an armada of snowmen to guard your castle during the Snowpocalypse?

Or a snow fort? Those are fun ^__^

It would burn calories to play in it, anyway. Got any good sledding hills?

Drink some (low cal) hot chocolate and keep yourself warm! Think thin and warm thoughts!

Sending a little sunshine your way,

    Emily

  7. hahah you're cute.

Hope the snow starts melting! I'm on the east coast too but definitely didn't get it as bad as you!! Another calorie burner is brushing the snow off your car every day! I like a systematic approach, using both arms equally.

Anyways. Stay strong. Love your blog. Peace.
